Wild Strawberry
Common Name: Chickweed
Latin Name: Stellaria media
Description: Chickweed is green in color and grows to 12 inches in height. Leaves have sharp tips and are arranged in pairs. The tiny flowers have five petals, are hued white, grow relatively sparse, and are found primarily at the top of the stem. The plants weak stems often trail on the ground.

Nutrition: According to Janice J. Schofield, chickweed is known for soothing irritated tissues, aiding bladder, kidney, and urinary difficulties. When applied topically as a salve, chickweed eases burns, bug bites, cuts, and scrapes. Topical application is also great for fighting infections.
Recipe: Chickweed Smoothie
1–2 cups freshly picked chickweed
1/2 bunch romaine lettuce
2 ripe pears
1 cup fresh apple juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1/2 cup ice cubes
Blend all ingredients in blender for 2 minutes or until thoroughly mixed.
Pour into fancy glasses and serve. Serves 2–3.
